Founded in 1991 by Dato' Idrus Mohd Satha, President of Cosmopoint Group of Companies, and led by renowned academician and economist, YM Royal Professor Ungku A. Aziz, the Kuala Lumpur Metropolitan University College (KLMU) offers diploma & degree programs that inculcates real world practice with high quality academic learning. KLMU is a progressive and innovative university college with five distinctive Faculties reflecting our diverse range of programs and sound emphasis on education as a pathway to professional success.

Mandated by the Entrepreneur Development Ministry to produce knowledge workers in ICT and Multimedia, and in line with one of the company's objectives to build an information-rich society that thrives on powerful digital tools and techniques to communicate, educate and excel, at an affordable price, Cosmopoint started its expansion plans to make its programs accessible to all.

As a result, the Cosmopoint College of International Technology has grown to 17 metro campuses nationwide. The main state-of-the-art city campus, being KLMU, is strategically located in Kuala Lumpur , the capital city of Malaysia . In recognition of the quality and commitment to delivering education excellence, the Malaysian Ministry of Education accorded university college status to Cosmopoint in 2006. KLMU also has been awarded the coveted MSC status and won the Enterprise 50 award for three years.

KLMU sets itself apart from the other private higher education institutions, specializing ICT and Multimedia education and training. It is also heavily involved in Research and Development, Software Development, Consulting and Multimedia Content Development. The ICT emphasis is infused throughout the other non-ICT courses in order for the graduates to succeed in the 21 st century work force.

KLMU has a reputation for providing innovative specialist ICT courses and has diversified its programs to meet the market demand. The range of academic programs are fully approved by the Ministry of Education and accredited by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (formerly LAN).

KLMU frequently review and update its industry-driven curriculum with emphasis on the latest software applications, greater focus on experiential learning and providing lessons on positive personal values to create critical-thinking graduates.

Our new campus

The new RM200 million purpose built campus will be in Wangsa Maju, Selangor. The strategically located campus will accommodate 8,000 students at any one time. The new campus is only about 25 minutes from the KL city centre. International students will make up 15% of the student population to ensure a global educational experience. The campus will also comfortably receive 3,000 students as residents at its hotel-styled condominiums.

Our location

With an inspiring view of the Petronas Twin Towers , the current KLMU campus is strategically located in the heart of Kuala Lumpur allowing students to absorb first hand real world experience of the bustling business, retail and tourism industries. Students can access the university easily via public transportation as it has a bus stop directly in front of the campus and is only a block away from the Star line Sultan Ismail LRT station. Within walking distance is the Medan Tuanku Monorail station.

The CCIT nationwide metro campuses also serve as representatives of KLMU for easy access to diploma and degree information as KLMU offers a more diverse range of programs. Students may register for KLMU programs at any one of the CCIT metro campuses.
